Sal is back! Etnies has announced that Sal Barbier will be the creative director of their new line. Sal and Etnies first teamed up in the early 1990s when he rode the Etnies Red Rap High in Plan B's legendary Questionable video. He then went on to design his signature Etnies Sal 23 Pro shoe, which was released in 1994 and is still considered one of the most iconic skateboarding shoes of all time.
Sal's influence as a skateboarder, designer, and creative director makes him the perfect person for the role. "I've always designed out of necessity. I have a different perspective than the current market. I'm going to design and make skate shoes that are no-compromise, and I need a hardcore skate shoe company to do that. I want to work with Etnies to create something so special for skateboarders that the outside world will take notice again," said Sal Barbier.
